A Little Under The Weather

Good Morning,

I am not feeling the best. Prayerfully, I will be able to post tomorrow. As for any who are desiring a Bible Study: I invite you to go to Luke 15;11-32. After you read, seek out how you:

1) Just may be asking for your inheritance for the wrong reason.

2) May be looking at others, who know God (according to your knowledge), and they are not conducting themselves properly, while you serve God.

3) Get a bit angry at those who didn't seem to have respect for God, but then desire His Love, and acceptance to return to right relationship with the Father.

4) Might find the way to receive what the Father is saying concerning the Joy that must arise because any of our Brothers or Sisters desire to return "Home" to be with the Father, receive of His goodness, and share in relationship with their Brothers and Sisters who have never left "Home" or broke relationship with the Father.

Once you have read, studied, and prayed about you and your placement with the "House" of your Father, make sure to leave a comment. That way the fellowship can begin concerning us and our receiving some good insight on how to serve a little bit better, and recognize when the desire to "spend the inheritance" comes we just may be in proper position to deny that.

Thank you for spending this time with me, and like I said earlier, pray that this small sickness passes and I am back to normal tomorrow. Enjoy your day.

Speak His Name...... BOLDLY

Acts 4;13-18 (KJV)

Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.

Now, I can assure you, if you read this passage on and beyond verse number 18, you will find that the disciples of Jesus Christ couldn't hold to these men's threats. For the necessity to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ was these men's total life. Hallelujah!!! That is the presentation in and of itself. I could leave you with that right there: The Gospel of Jesus Christ is your total life...... Let that marinate!!!

Okay, we good? Yes? Then, allow us to delve just a bit deeper into this presentation to get a little more encouragement to speak Christ with a bit more boldness. First off, let's backtrack just a bit concerning Peter and John. For they are standing before rulers, elders, and scribes that "govern" the spiritual state of those people in Jerusalem (Acts 4;1-7). The reason they are standing before these men is because Peter and John, during the time of prayer; at the gate to the temple; healed a lame man of his infirmity (of course, this miracle was performed through the power of the Holy Spirit:God), in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 3;1-10). Afterwards, because of those who witnessed the man; that he had been healed, and they marveled at this healing, Peter addressed the crowd of people that gathered (Acts 3;11-26). What has to be seen before I could even try and add to this, which I would dare not add: for the Word stands on its own, is that Peter, and John are doing no more than Christ told them they would do. They were expressly told, by Christ (Acts 1;6-8, John 20;19-23, Luke 10;17-20, Mark 16;14-18, Matthew 28;16-20), that they would be able to do such things: and these men, Peter and John, believed what was spoken to them by Christ Jesus. I mean they did walk with Christ, talk with Christ, learned from Christ, and prayed with Christ. I pray you are taking all of this in to find that mental picture of yourself; where you are with Christ. Because there is a certain amount of boldness you have, concerning your knowledge of Christ, when it comes to believing all of what Christ said is TRUE and TRUE for you.

So, we find that because of Peter's and John's boldness to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and their boldness to believe they could heal the lame man; which he was healed, in the name of Jesus Christ, that they are now before some men who didn't believe. I am going somewhere with this. Y'all better be with me when I get there. They found themselves being scrutinized, and threatened by the "powers that be" which are used to being the ONLY ones people seek out for miracles, healings, and what not. These men could not allow for a new eyesight to come into view. But what these men were not knowing: as some in this day find themselves in the same position, is that when Christ says you have this, YOU HAVE IT! And, you can walk, actively, in that which Christ gave to you. If you believe, and have had the opportunity to learn of Christ; from his own words spoken, to take them in and retain what Christ spoke....... Wait!!!!

I have arrived at the place I was "getting to". Are you here, present, with me? I pray so.

You do have what Christ spoke available to you; to learn of Christ; to have opportunity to believe. It is the Bible?!?!?!?! And then, there is the availability to reach a level of boldness that Peter and John had as well. Through accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior (Romans 10;9-11), then being baptized (John 3;3-8), and receiving the Holy Spirit (Acts 1;5, 1;8, 2;1-4). Yes, that same level of boldness IS available for you. Truth be told, I am doing my best, on a daily basis, to reach that level. Oh Yes!, I know that with that level will come scrutinization, railings, accusations, and all manner of negative speech, but what Christ said is for me, NO MAN CAN TAKE AWAY FROM ME!!!! See, that is the level of boldness I am on at present time. That is how I stay obedient and reach out for you, who will sit and read this blog, because you have to have fellowship. There is a Brother or Sister of mine, through the blood of Jesus Christ, that needs to know their Brother is standing at the throne, on their behalf, speaking with Christ about them. I have a Brother or Sister, out there in France, Germany, Canada, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Russia, the Ukraine, and other areas of this world, who may only have the opportunity to fellowship with their Brother, through this blog. Christ gave me the boldness to begin this blog; to reach them; so that He could reach them, for them to receive their boldness. Hallelujah!!! I am so in love with Christ Jesus right now!!!!! To know that because, in 2003, I made the decision to follow Christ, He would teach me (through my obedience to sit and learn of him), and infuse this boldness within me, someone somewhere in this world would reach their own level of boldness..... Hallelujah!!!!!

Brothers and Sisters, let them people, who would try, again I say, "Try", to discourage you from being bold, say what they want. Because, like I, you have a Lord and Savior who told you that it is for you to stand, firm, with the knowledge of Him in your heart, and tell any and all who would pass by you, "There IS a Christ!!!! His name is Jesus, and let me tell you about him."

I will tell about him, BOLDLY!!!!!!!

Moving On

Genesis 12;1-4 (KJV)

Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will show thee:
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.

Have you spoken to anyone, in public or private, and made the statement, "The Lord said to me to...."? I ask the question because if you have, I have to ask this next question, if it pertains to you, "Why haven't you began to....?"

Abram heard what God had desired of him, and received all of what God desired of him and was going to do for him. Upon hearing what God's will was for his life Abram departed and began his life's journey. I say life's journey because of all that God had spoken to Abram, which if you continue reading, it all came to pass according to how God spoke. Anyway, another thing about this text that is beneficial to the reader/person studying is that there is no given/recorded time span between what God spoke to Abram, and Abram gathering up all of his stuff to move. We do know how old Abram was though, seventy five. That right there should push all of the standard excuses you have for not moving on what God said right on out the door. No! Seriously, if you read on you will see that anywhere, in age, below seventy five, really should not hold an excuse. Especially the excuse of age.

Now first off, back in verse 1, I keyed in on something refreshing. God said, "unto a land that I will show thee:". Hallelujah! This is a statement that is actually a promise. Oh Hallelujah! God will not do what he said he would do. So what made me leap with joy is the fact that if you heard God say that he would do....., then it WILL be done. Where we, as his faithful children (that is even a fact due to Abram moving upon hearing God's will), seem to get a little off track is when want "see" God perform what he said he would perform without us doing anything. Real quick, can a cake be a cake without the mixing of the ingrediants? If God says to you that he desires you do such and such, and that will bring you to what he will do? Why then would you want to not do such and such? Yes, this is for you to answer. Answer the question. Why? God will accomplish what he said he would do. When that which God says will be done, he accomplishes that which he said will be done, with or without you. I'd much rather be remembered as being just like Abram, in that all anyone would know is that I moved. I performed. I relayed the message. I walked over. Understand? If all God asked you to do is what he asked you to do, then do it.

Furthermore, going back to the text, we see another point of joy in that God announced what would be the reality of Abram at some point in time in his life. Yup! This one is going to crack a few of your foreheads but.... Okay, when God spoke to Abram those certainty of blessings, he (God) didn't say, "This will happen in six months."
I should stop the statement there, but I am sure some would miss the 'self taught lesson'. Again, God doesn't deal in man's expectancy of time span. Oh, how can I explain because I can see one, sitting, reading, about to cry a bit, full of frustration, because they are in the longest span of time they ever 'waited' only because God said so, and they are sure it was God that said, "Wait". Prayerfully this will soothe. What you, the child of God, have to do is not allow for the circumstances to dictate to you who God "must be", no. You have to stay next to who YOU KNOW God to be, by staying in his Word, and dictating to the circumstances who "God is". Abram could move on God's directive because he, Abram, knew who God was. God was personal to Abram. He couldn't not have an encounter with God, receive instructions, and stand stil; hemmin' and hawin' God. No!!! Abram HAD to move. "How dare I disrespect my God in such a way as to not move?", is my supposed thought of what Abram would have said to himself, after hearing from God.

So, why are you not moving, or haven't moved yet? Is God not that personal to you? Could it be that you do not hold his word to be just that precious? I mean I am asking because I hesistated for awhile, and it was devistating, once I did move, to recognize how much time I did waste, but God didn't lose any time in my waiting to move (again, I hope you get this 'self taught lesson'). Brothers and Sisters, our dedication to performing God's will for our lives is going to require an eyesight that has to go beyond this physical world. You have heard it before, and probably know it to be true. But, have you actually buried that fact deep within your heart, to not allow circumstances and situations to come chip away at the eyesight? Yes, this is difficult and it can cause pain to come about but, trust, the elation that is going to occur.......

I am being directed to give, to you, something someone already wrote about this very sentiment I am attempting to convey to you all. Paul wrote, in his second epistle, to the church in Corinth:

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many rebound to the glory of God.
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;~ 2 Corinthians 4;8-9 & 15-17

Don't hesistate on moving, now that you have instructions; given to you by God. If already on the move, don't stop. If you have stopped, do not think you cannot continue. You can. Just start moving, again. I am praying for you.

Someone Else Said It Best

Yesterday, as I was out, walking through the streets of LA, I had opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with a young man, and it became a "nice" conversation that covered several different areas. But, all of our conversation centered around one main topic: Manhood. What is it? Why it appears that most are not resting, or operating in it? And, how is it women do not seem to respond to those that express it?

As much as we talked, and I shared a few a scriptures with him, he appeared to still have "hesistation" based on his own, personal, self-evaluated, wisdom. We prayed and I went on with the rest of my evening. Arriving at my place of residence, I grabbed a book that I have read a few times, and it was within one of the chapters that I saw what was actually causing this young man's "hesistation". Now, based on the young man's style of conversation and his perceived bravatto, I probably will not catch up with him (unless I take up position on that corner and wait for him to breeze by one day) anytime soon. So prayerfully, he will read this blog, as I pray other young men will as well, and receive the words of the author of this book. Maybe his words will penetrate the areas that mine couldn't.

The author's name is Dr. Larry Crabb. The book is titled, 'The Silence of Adam'. I am transcribing his words from chapter 8, 'Men who Fight the Darkness'. Please consider:

First, then, what do men do when they feel the fear of moving into a situation they have no idea how to handle?
In this world, nobody can avoid the darkness. We are all caught in situations that stump us. And usually those situations involve unexpected problems in our relationships.

God, what have you promised? What can I depend on? What is predictable? What should I do?
That is the first question men ask.

God knows what we should do. Surely he will tell us. And then we realize----the voice was his. He is telling us what to do, but it's not a code. He tells us to be men, to love him, and then to do whatever we think is best.

When it finally draws on us that God is waiting for us to move and to speak into darkness, that his instruction is to choose a direction consistent with what we know of him, then we stop asking the first question. We have to. He simply won't tell us specifically what to do. We begin to face the loneliness of choice, the terror of trust.
That's when the second question arises from parts deep within us, accompanied by a level of fear that leaves us feeling more alone than ever before: "Do I have what it takes to do what God calls a man----a manly man----to do? If I move, will it be with wisdom? Do I have the courage to do something with absolutely no guarantees other than that God's ultimate purposes will be achieved? Am I willing to move into the mystery of relationship with another human being, renouncing all efforts to control the outcome?

If we really choose to enter the unpredictability of relationships, we're not at all sure that we can speak a word of life. And we're not sure if we want people to make their own choices as they relate to us. Can we handle what might happen if people close to us actually were freed?

When God confronts you with a relational situation so confusing and important that you cry out the words "God, I want to be a man. But do I have what it takes?" Then rejoice. You are standing at a gate that opens to the narrow path of true masculine godliness.
It is a gate that few men ever open. And for good reason. No amount of force can open it. The gate never swings open to a man who approaches it with the confidence of one who is used to making things happen. Only a man who has left the sphere of management----one who has fallen prostrate before mystery but desperately longs to enter it----will, in his weakness, be strong enough to open it.

Once we become Christians, our most important decisions are often made in the darkness, with only God's light. We must trust God who often does not tell us exactly what to do. The Spirit more often whispers encouragement ("You can do it. I am with you") than directions ("Now go tell her this"). We must develop a relationship with Christ in which we come to know him well enough to behave like he would, to sense what he would do, what he might say. We must honor our calling to reflect his habit of moving through darkness toward beauty.

I hope this small transcription of Dr. Crabb's writing will spark that light within you, to get you to identify those areas where you know you are lacking or desolate. Continue to search the word of God, daily, and if you can go out and purchase this book. Trust, it will cause you, as a man, to re-evaluate, re-examine, and re-adjust alot of who you are, to begin again as a man that knows he is following behind Christ Jesus. May God Bless you, and may God keep you.

You Might Want To Pay Close Attention

Galatians 6;7-9 (KJV)

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

I really didn't want to speak this, out loud, but circumstances dictate that it be spoken. "Don't GIVE UP, GIVE IN, or GIVE AWAY to the enemy just yet!!!! Hold on for a lil' bit longer!! Trust, you are being seen, and relief IS on the way!!!"

In today's society so much is geared towards our quick relief. Whether it be from work stress, body aches and pains, household chores, family obligations, and marriages. If you get tired of something or someone, just go over to here and relieve yourself of that issue. Why is it so simple? Why would we, as people, allow for the process to get that simplistic? Are you paying attention yet?

What God is relaying to us, through this certain set of scriptures, is that if you ONLY concern yourself with the "what feels good to my flesh" aspects of life then you will have to deal with those outcomes that are, only, fixed to your flesh. Are you paying attention yet? C'mon now, this is your encouragement. We gather, together, to fellowship and encourage one another to stay aware of God: his goodness, his commandments, and his will for our lives. But, all of that cannot be focused on when you are dealing in the "what feels good to my flesh" parts of life. See, I really am not trying to put everyone's business out there in the street (because I would have to put mine out there too), but I can see, even now, that there are those of us who are rationalizing, compartmentalizing, and febreezerizing all of their "business". Why? Aren't you paying attention?

The word states that God is not mocked. He IS NOT mocked. You can sweep, hide, sell, throw away, or bury all of what you did to PLEASE THAT FLESH, but God said you WILL REAP whatever you sowed unto it. Like when you had that chick come over the other night, so you two could discuss church matters. Yes, the one with that nice, track star body; that looks like she WOULD keep her mouth shut in the sanctuary: as to allow you to continue to play the role of innocent 'Mr. Waiting on the Lord'. That ain't gonna stay hidden for long. Paying attention yet? Or what about you? Yes you, who invited that 60 year old man over for dinner. Then, somehow, ended up showing him what goes on in that new 'chair dancing/lap dancing' class you are taking; even put on the costume that the instructor recommended. All before stopping the music and dance because you just "remembered" that you needed to get up early, to work at that extra job; to make some extra money in order to pay your rent. But, accepted that dude's "offering" so the floor-show would continue. Yup, that will be known too. Are YOU paying attention?

Those 'oh so far to the left' examples (because I know my good Brothers and Sisters in Christ would never employ such trickery and tactics) are used to illustrate what the Word actually means. It means that if and when you begin to live to satisfy the flesh, you are ONLY going to have to deal and answer to the flesh. But, if and when you begin to live to satisfy the Spirit; the Holy Spirit: God, you are ONLY going to have to deal and answer to God. Please tell me you ARE paying attention now? When concerning yourself with the successful completion of performing God's will for your life, all that other stuff moves out of the way. Not because you will not have to deal with it, but because you WILL rest in the assurance of God; of his Wisdom, Knowledge, and Power. Your life will become more calm, more delightful, more enjoyable.

Then we have the further explanation; the qualifier of this assuance. That would be verse 9. It expresses what God so understands about his children. That we, often times, get a lil' bit frustrated, aggrevated, restless, and whatever other adjectives we could use to describe a child that is on the verge of throwing a temper tantrum. And, since God is the best parent, he bends down: to calm us down, he says, "Hold on just a little bit longer. Trust, you will receive what you are suppose to have. If you just be a little more patient, and not show out in front of all these people."
Okay, that is my imagination of what He would say, but you DO have the word right there; to know what He does say about the matter. You gotta be paying attention now?

Brothers and Sisters, it is quite necessary that we all try our best to walk this encouragement out today. There are a few of us, me included, who are holding on with that last bit of strength. God sees you! That is why He asked me to make this encouragement, on this day. Because He SEES YOU!!! He knows you are serious in your pursuit of His will for your life, and that you are "feeling" weak right around this day. He SEES you!!! He understands how simple it is Sister, because that dude IS after you. And, that dude DOES have everything that will make your life easier. Plus you already have the dress picked out, in your mind, and the house this dude has IS by the ocean; in Malibu. This dude has set that Range Rover: the white one you like, with the sport package you described, in the garage. You would not have to work ever again. Yup, God sees all of that. That is why God had you to read this blog on this day. So you could see that God SEES you!!! Brother, God knows it is a hard fought struggle to maintain your position as His child. Yes, you have been unemployed for almost two years. Yes, you are barely making rent every month. Yes, it doesn't seem like you will ever own a vehicle again. Yes, your heart aches from dreams deferred, hopes dashed, and expectations destroyed. But, what you HAVE TO KNOW is that God SEES you!!! He sees all of that, and He allowed for me to tell you (to SCREAM IT to myself) that what he has for you will cause tears to stream from your eyes because what you think you have lost, serving Him, CAN NOT EVER come close to what He has for you. What God has for those who serve Him and willingly follow His will for their lives, is incomprehensive. My limited range of knowledge cannot articulate what glorious things are to come. Even now, what you, who read this, are experiencing is solely between you and God. I couldn't describe it if I tried. All I can say is Hallelujah!!!! Hallelujah!!!! And, Hallelujah!!!!

You might want to pay close attention.....

Nothing CAN Mean Something

Proverbs 30;7-9 (KJV)

Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die:
Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:
Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the Lord? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.

"Grateful for 'nothing'.. Nothing major going wrong, finances are ok, kids, and family are in reasonably good health. I have a job. I would love to say I won the lottery or say something wonderful and extrordinary is happening----but its not. I just want to praise God for my portion of blessings---I am Truly Thankful and Content!"~ Lorie Cousins-Bennett

That quote, which was spoken by my aunt (Hey Auntie Lorie!!!!), is the actual inspiration for today's encouragement. Her quote, when I read it, automatically connected itself to these verses within the Proverbs. I SAW that the Word of God, had again, proven itself TRUE. So, of course, I couldn't not share it: to give encouragement to those who are, right now, reading God's word; depending on His word to manifest itself within their life. Hello!!!! IT IS MANIFESTING ITSELF!!!!

Psalms 1;1-3 (KJV)

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Hallelujah!!!! Praise the name of the Lord!!!! C'mon, let's give a praise for the Word of God!!!! This LIVING WORD!!! This REPLENISHING WORD!!! This Word that never fails, always accomplishes, delivers right on time, and comforts the receipiants it is delivered unto!!!! Oh, how wonderful is our God!!! Just take a moment to thank him for all that he has done, is doing, and is about to do within the lives of those that love, honor, reverence, and praise Him.

Back to today's encouragement. HAHAHAHAHA.... It is an awesome thing to be able to recognize when the word of God is actually manifesting itself within your life; to see the Word come alive, in a certain situation, and then you get opportunity (keep your Bible close at all times) to run back and check out exactly what the Word said about the situation. Yup!!! I get speechless about it too. That is the kind of joy I received when I saw what my aunt had written. To see her praise God because she understood that she has her "daily bread", present, within her life; within her day. That made me praise God because I saw the word of God manifested. It was alive, moving, and proving itself through my family member's short testimony of praise. Oh! God is Good, all the time.

The writer of the Proverb does something, to me, that continues to amaze me, even unto this very moment. He speaks to the two extreme points within man that would cause man to lose sight of God, and all his goodness. Riches, and Poverty: he gives equal weight to both, and he expresses the wisdom to know that both have their own, respective, downfalls. With riches, which he expresses by saying "Lest I be full", he shows us that we are the one that WILL gorge ourselves with it. Become 'full' from the want of what we think we must have. Think of this last go 'round on Wall Street. Those individuals who got 'full' could care less what has become of any other American. I would dare to venture a guess and say, "They just might push out there mouth that money IS their god."

But then, take a look at the 'poor'. The writer speaks to that side as well by saying, "Lest I be poor, and steal". Now what is interesting is that way he says poor, in close proximity to full. I say that because of the quantifing statement the writer adds on to the end of this expression about being 'poor'. He writes that it, being 'poor', will cause him to steal, and take the name of God in vain. Give it a moment..... Yup, I think you might have made the connection too. LOL It is one of God's commandments; to not take the name of the Lord in vain. So, what does that actually mean; to not do it, for real, and learn why some 'poor' people are that way even though they have wealth? Well, that word 'vain', in the Hebrew, means to literally destroy the name of God, just to do it, because of your own misguided thought process: brought on by this being 'poor'. WOW!!! And, the writer knows this is a state man can find himself within, so he asks the Lord to keep him from this position with the exact same intensity as the other side; of being 'full'. Again, Hallelujah!!! Praise God!!!!

I will say this, even though I believe you are encouraged. When contentment is present; within your spirit; to know that you are satisfied with God, alone, that is where these scriptures begin to speak to you: showing you that your spiritual self IS connected to God, and that you are the receiver of all his goodness. That is why my aunt's words lit up my face. Her words were the highlighter that was used to bring out the importance of the Word. That Word that is within me; working in me. Causing me to live it out, on a daily basis. I may not be able to speak this Proverb, word for word, but I can and will walk it, step by step. That is for you too. The availability of this Word: for you to sit, read, study, hide in your heart, and then watch it manifest itself within your life; causing you to run back to that very same Word, and check that it DID just happen. Yes!!! My Brother. Yes!!! My Sister. That IS what just happened. The word of God just found its way into your heart, and you just saw it manifest itself within your life.

Now, Give God some PRAISE!!!!!!!!

And Now, It's Time For The Breakdown

Deuteronomy 5;21 (KJV)

Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbor's wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbor's house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbor's.

James 4;2-3 (KJV)

Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

Lord, bless this presentation based upon your word, and bless those who would be the receipiants of your word. Now, go before this presentation and set the hearts and minds of those who will read. Prepare them Lord, for what it is that you desire them to learn. If it is necessary that tears must fall, allow them to fall, Lord. Humble the proud, and uplift the one already humbled. Now, I ask that you bless the writer of this presentation, that he would stay mindful this is, as is all things, are for your honor and your glory. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Desire: in the Hebrew; chamad (khaw-mad') to delight in: In this verse the word is saying, do not get fixed on your neighbor's wife; to take delight in her as if she IS your's. For, the TRUTH is, she IS NOT your wife.

Covet: in the Hebrew; avah (aw-vaw') to wish for: In this verse the word is saying, do not speak that you should receive what is your neighbor's; to take possession of it because you "want" it.

Moses, who is expressing what God spoke, is making a distinct difference between the intentions we have when we "see" those persons or items we set our hearts on; to ask for them. God knows that we have a tendancy to get fixated upon something or someone that is already marked out as, 'NOT FOR YOU'. Why then does this apparent knowledge of God need to be brought up again, by James, in his epistle? I'll tell you why..... Because people just WILL NOT listen: when hearing what God speaks, says, gives, will do, people somehow, someway, will lean away from it, like what they just heard DOESN'T APPLY to them. So, if we cruise on over to the book of James (SN: I sincerely hope that whenever you are joining me, to fellowship, you do have your Bible with you. Trust, it would be so much better for you to be able to actually read the word, for yourself.) and re-read what is being spoken.

What I must bring up, out the box, is that James doesn't pull any punches. He is willing to strike that place of weakness within us, (remember God's word is meant to strengthen), and look at us, at the same time, to say, "This is all you. Right there. Yup playa, that's you doing that to yourself."
C'mon..... Don't act like you haven't secretly spoken to yourself that you wanted that other dude's car. The one you saw yesterday. That was sittin' on 26s. All that leather, and that GIGANTIC Chevrolet emblem on it. See, you remember saying, "I wish that was me in that. I be Shaquandah would want me then."
Or you ladies. Don't think that y'all are immune to this. Sittin', with your girlfriends, at the Starbucks the other day, "admiring" your friend's lil' sundress, "Oooo, girl. I must admit you look good in that dress." All the while speaking to yourself that you would look so much better in it. You even got slick, and checked the designer's name on the tag by asking if it is hand-wash only.

I give these, light, examples because we know how to identify when we get an example of behavior that is close to the behavior we actually displayed. These mentionings of inner thoughts, desires, wantings, are probably not your's, but you DO remember your's. That is why it has to be spoken. It is time for us to start receiving, but what we must receive is that which God HAS FOR US. I am not in "need" of what you have, and you cannot maintain with what I "need" to have. This is the point at which we all must view each other's stuff and peoples connected. I got a very good friend, and his wife is perfect, FOR HIM.... LOL I know that. It would be oh so reckless of me to go and destroy his household just because I might think she is "better off" with me. What I do know, is that this Brother deserves HIS wife. He listened out for God's approval about her, pursued her, made her his wife, and his providing for her, his children, and household. I applaud him. Besides, she may be the worst headache I would ever come into contact with. She may just require a level of "up-keep" that my patience and pockets are not ready for, but I just have to have her. Nope!! I know better.

That is probably why you all are not as content as you thought you would be, witb all of that you have. Because you ran behind that desire, that coveted thing, that off limits person. But again, that is why the word of God has come to you too. To teach you, to reposition you, to build you up. Most of your inner pains in life are due to that false idea you allowed to be built up, and then tried to operate from, but thank God for the BREAKDOWN. Thank God that he will allow for that idea to be broken down. Your life, now, has opportunity to be rebuilt. Rebuilt upon the foundation of Jesus Christ. Upon the foundation of Truth, Salvation, and Sanctification. Your only knowing how to "ask" after your own lusts is over. You now know that you can stop, and "ask" after what God's will for your life is at present time. You are in a great place. When the word of God comes to meet you, you will be broken, but the build up is what the Hallelujah is all about. So, say Hallelujah!!!! Say Hallelujah!!!! Say it one more time!!!!

You are being built up for what God has for you. And, what he has for you, IS FOR YOU...

Yes, He is Coming Back, So Get to Work

Acts 1;9-11 (KJV)

And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Mark 13;32-37 (KJV)
But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

I have to say that this presentation is going to be a bit difficult for me, because so much of me; my desire for service, it isn't suppose to be the influence for what is being given to you. Please bear with me, and if you feel as if the presentation is more of a chant to get you to 'Go out to work', then pray for me. LOL

Everyone of us knows not the return of Christ Jesus, but everyone of us cannot stand still and marvel (stare with wonder or awe) at the sky; awaiting his return. This Gospel has to be spoken. Truthfully, that is all that needs to be spoken. We could go about dazzling those, we come into contact with, by rattling off countless words that display our verbal intellect. But, none of that matters: unless you are in front of people who clearly enjoy listening to one's verbal intellect. Yes, they are out there. If that be such a case, dazzle them with what Jesus spoke. That should not only entertain, but inform them as well. For the Gospel is what is important, and we are the workers who should be shuffling this Gospel to each and every individual on this planet.

That is why it is necessary to hear what those two angels said to the disciples, after Christ went into heaven. "Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven?"
I can imagine, in this day and time that those men, in white apparel, would have spoken, "Hey! Ain't you all them that WORKED with Jesus? Then why y'all standing still like that?"
Again, work has to be done and we all have our share of it to complete. We shouldn't be lazy about that work either. The verse in Mark shows us that. We know not when He shall return.

*SIDENOTE* No one knows when Christ is returning!!!! No one! Only God holds that knowledge. So, unless you see Christ coming: which would mean we all would see Christ coming, no one person or group of people can claim to know that day. In the words of the modern day prophet Flava Flav, "Don't believe the hype!!"

Going back to Mark, Jesus is speaking, and he states, through this parable of the master leaving his house, that this master, 'gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work'. This is where I spoke, earlier, about my desire for service not being present. What we should get from this in which Christ is speaking, are two things. One: Everyone has something to do for the Kingdom of God. Two: What you do, maybe and probably, is different from what I am to do. There is a task out there for you to complete. Could that be why the feeling, deep down, within you will not leave you? Could it be, as well, why you continue to draw people unto you who say, "It's something about you that I have to talk, only, to you."?

Whatever the task is, no matter the scope of it, you should be doing your best to complete it. I have that going on, in my life, right now; at this present moment. There is this next level in my life that I need to reach. But, what I know is that this next level, it is just that: a level. It is like this blog. It is the first of a two part section that would be considered the first level. The second part, prayerfully, will get underway by this Fall. Now understand, all of this (no matter how many level) is nothing more than the work being done, according to the will of God, to get the Gospel of Jesus Christ into the hearts of as many as I come into contact with, on a daily basis. That is what today's blog is encouraging you to seek out.

How does your desire to complete the will of God, in your life, move you to work, and reach others in presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Do you know that you have been slack in that work? Should you move to that next level, in which you know more can be reached? These two questions are for you; to take a self-inventory of that work. Plus, the work you are completing for the Kingdom of God, have been completing it? Of course it is a little bit more difficult. But, if you actually sit and, first, inventory how much of what you are doing is actually for "YOU", instead of for God, then you might find the tasks God has for you are not too much, and they very much fulfilling.

Somehow I think that there is one who is reading this blog, today, slightly offended. If I may, "Could that offense you feel actually be the realization that you know you were just nudged, out of your slumber, by one of the other servants, and you thought it was the Master, himself?"

Ask The Question

James 1;5 (KJV)

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Proverbs 2;1-5 (KJV)

My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;
Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for his treasures;
Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.

This was placed on my heart; to speak just these few sentences. There is not much more which should or could be added unto the word which is of the Lord. If there are questions which you have, that seem to not get answered by anyone you present them to, ask God. Trust he will give you answer.

Now, because I have purposed this blog to be about fellowship, I would like to offer any assistance I can to those who may not know where to begin reading, or have not ever picked up the Bible. Just post your comment, and I will do my best to give you the place to begin. May God bless you and keep you until we connect again.

All IS Him, None IS Me

John 3;27-30 (KJV)

John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
He must increase, but I must decrease.

2 Corinthians 4;5-7 (KJV)

For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

If there is an active, consistant, and acknowledged awareness that Christ Jesus is your Lord and Savior, then you should not be seen, in daily operation, any longer; people should and must see Christ. It very well can be spoken, of you, that you are the vessel that Christ can and will use to speak into the lives of all those who you come into contact with on a daily basis. When you walk away from the individuals, they should have the heartset to go "see" about Christ according to the Word of God. Those individuals should have a mindset of gratitude and joy about God; that Christ Jesus is interested in them and did not desire they continue forth without knowing about him, and all of who he is: to be available for them. They should not, ever, give you credit. Mention your name more than Christ Jesus. Or, "seek" you and what YOU say before they go to read what God has to say according to His word.

When John made that statement, He must increase, but I must decrease, he was speaking to the fact that Christ, when arriving on the scene, has to have all of what is encompassed within the area he is present in. If that makes sense to you? If not, allow me to say it with a contemporary example you may understand.
If you so happen to be in a place, speaking, and the entire audiance is giving you all of the attention and President Obama comes into the room, do you think that that same audiance will continue to give you attention? Do you think that they should? Would that be a thought that causes anger, disappointment, rejection, and hurt feelings to rise up in you; at this very moment of thinking about it? Well, if all of your answers are "Yes", then you understand what John was speaking, but you still have some DECREASING to do.

That is why there is the inclusion of Paul's statement to the church (the body of people) in Corinth. See what Paul is alerting them, and us, to is the actual placement of those who would bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ unto any person or group of people. He uses the word 'servant' (v5) to describe himself and anyone else that would preach Christ Jesus. That word, 'servant': he uses it, in essence, to actually say that any person who would approach an individual or group of people, proclaiming Christ Jesus, is and should be seen by those who are being spoken to, as the slave; the person in subjection to or subserviency to the Master. Now this position is critical, because if the person speaking Christ Jesus is seen in this way it will be openly acknowledged by the ones listening and giving attention: as well as the person speaking, that the message being spoken is of the Master. All attention, expectation, and consideration should be given to the Master, and his arrival. No one should regard me; the speaker of the message. Take a moment to allow that realization to sit with you. You are Christ Jesus' slave. His 'servant'. To go about your daily life proclaiming him and his arrival, but no one is to regard you more than what you say, and surely never equal to or more than Christ Jesus himself.

Yup, you may need a few moments with this one. It's okay. I revisit this everytime I sit down with this mobile device and post these blogs. However I write, whatever I write, it should not be inflated to the point of bursting; containing all of me. You, who read, should desire to KNOW MORE about Christ Jesus; to seek out all of Him. That is my expectation and joy. That you who read, will go to the Word of God, and read the scriptures. Then walk out the rest of your day with Christ Jesus in your heart, on your mind, and ultimately making Him Lord and Savior of your life.

It Is An Action Word

Romans 5; 1-8 (KJV)

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
But God commandeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

A little while back; a few blogs ago, I spoke of Love. We loving each other with the understanding that God loves us. It was placed on my heart that some, if not all, who read that blog post may have not gotten the full weight of what was being presented. See, we are moving about but not going anywhere. We are searching for that "feeling" but not actually finding any one thing to satisfy. There are even some who have resolved to just sit, with hands folded, and wait for it to appear. What is this 'IT' that I speak of?..... It is LOVE. But, here is the all too familiar rub about that, "You must comprehend that Love is an ACTION word. Not only is it an action word, but it come from God, and if that knowledge is not quite clear then your efforts will be not quite correct."

God's Love is causative. Yeah, kinda bold ain't it. But, if you actually sit and reflect on your very last interaction with God; his expression of his Love towards you; in a particular matter, you will see that you didn't just "sit still". No, you had to perform. And, this performance was correct. You knew it. It had purpose, and is still operating in that purpose to this day. Perfect example:
The men that gathered together to form the mentorship program that I am apart of did so after the inspiration for this program was placed upon the heart of one; Mr. Roland Wiley. He knew that the mentorship project had to be created because God placed it on his heart; as a gift which was going to presented to numerous young boys throughout Los Angeles. Now, Mr. Wiley had ample evidence of God's Love within his life. So why not MOVE on this one item? And, if it is an express directive from God; because of his Love towards children, why not MOVE? This Love of God caused Mr. Wiley to MOVE and through his obedience to God there is, now, Manformation. A mentorship program which operates in Los Angeles, CA, and has provided support and guidence to well over 100 boys and teens over the last three years. All from Love.

David wrote, in his Psalm (Psalms 116;1-2), I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

You sit, or stand, and lament about love: not receiving it, and your probable inability to give it. Yet, you do not speak to God about it. David said that he will "call" upon God as long as he lives because of his love for God. Now I will offer that David has good cause TO love God. As a matter of fact, if you desire, go and read about David, you will see why he has love for God and why he KNOWS to call upon him for the rest of his life. The point behind this, which is applicable to your life: today, is that you have that same ability because you have that same access. Go back and read the scripture from Romans again. "While we were yet sinners"! We. Yes, that includes you. God has never stopped, nor do I believe he will ever stop.

God's Love for us is infinite. I am sure of that because I have this Bible, which tells me of his Love towards man from the garden of Eden all the way through to the garden of Gethsemane. That same Love is spoken of by the Prophet Isaiah:
(Isaiah 63;7) I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the Lord, and the praises of the Lord, according to all that the Lord hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.
Again, a causative Love. Love that initiates action. A 'cannot sit still' type Love. God's Love towards man; his creation. We are created to love, give love, receive love, show love, defend love. All actions. Oh! and the beauty of this Love that is shown/given to us, it was God's only. He desired to share this Love with us, and because he is God: to not turn away from his decisions or desires (we could sure use a lesson in that) this Love will be offered to us, without stopping. Go with me to read what the Prophet Jeremiah spoke about this:
(Jeremiah 31;1-3) At the same time, saith the Lord, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people. Thus saith the Lord, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest. The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

I do not know about you, but that right there makes me want to go out and accomplish the will of God for my life!!!!! God said, "I have loved thee with an everlasting love"!!! A Love that goes on forever?!?! Yes, rather mindblowing.... Kinda unreachable with our minds....

Brothers and Sisters, after this day I, seriously, believe we can no longer sit around with an elementary kind of wonderment towards this 'love' word. We have to, first, reclaim that rightful knowledge that we are receipiants of God's Love; the greatest Love. Also, study this Word of God to see that we can do our best, on a daily basis, to show this love to each other. Then move into the area of placing action/movement with this love because this love brings action/movement with it when coming to us. It truly is not difficult. We MUST MOVE!!! Correct movement though, not that self-centered, "only for me", type love. No. That love isn't love. It is pure destruction. That causes separation, and that is not God; no resemblance of his Love.

Please, re read and study for yourself. Aquire this comprehension of Love so that you too can clearly, effectively, speak about it and walk it out. See, all of that is action. You would be doing something for Love; for God; for God is Love. Comprehend?

Love is an action word........

The Truth Can Hurt

John 8;31-32 (KJV)

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

2 Timothy 3;1-9 (KJV)

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Without natural affrection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
Traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, lead away with divers lusts,
Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

Like the title of today's encouragement states: THE TRUTH CAN HURT

In today's time there are some people who do not know about the truth, the Spiritual Truth of Christ Jesus, and then there are those who do not care to know that truth. There are going to be some who read this presentation and give thanks for an attempt to show the truth, and there are going to be some who read this and get angry because the truth was spoken. I hope this is sinking in rather quickly, for no one knows what tomorrow will bring: let alone if tomorrow will be brought unto us. I seriously do not mean to sadden you all in the middle of this week, but I had an experience last night that drove home the need to give God praise, honor, and worship for giving away, freely, the truth. That truth? That we are desired; as a parent desires to maintain relationship with a child. And, because God didn't desire to be "away" from us, he sent Christ Jesus to be our way to have everlasting relationship with God.

Now, this is the part that seems to be not desired by us: mankind. We want this relationship; to have all the benefits of the relationship. But, it appears that none would desire to perform the instructions of God, heed warnings of God, or even just attain to learn what God is asking of us. Then there are those who go about their lives, doing whatever they please: no regard for God or his instructions, statues, or commandments, but will tell you, "He is a forgiving God, right? Besides, you can't judge me. Only God can judge me."
Maybe they haven't found time to read Hebrews 10;26-31. Or, maybe they have read it and they fall into the catagory of those which Paul is speaking of within his second espitle to Timothy. Again, this is what we are seeing of some. If I am wrong, and there are none performing any of these things, anywhere in this world, alert me to my wrongness. I am not above being taught better.

See, the thing about the truth is this, when it presents itself nothing else can be presented. All other things spoken are forgotten, or stored away under, "Not The Truth". The truth is written down, and in some instances, mass produced for anyone to acquire it; to possess the truth. Once in the hands of the individuals it becomes the very essence of what Christ Jesus spoke, "And the truth shall make you free."
This freedom is now power. Power to search out more truth; truth that leads us to Victory. In the case of our spiritual lives, victory over sin, evildoers, and damnation. Again, a portion of the truth that some would rather not be known. Why? Because it would, then, be known that these, certain individuals, do not operate in truth. When we find out the truth of those individuals, we move away from them and closer to the truth. They know this. That is why they employ all manner of tactics to twist the truth, to get us to not recognize the truth, to down right feed us the lie. Today's encouragement, my offering of information about the truth, is no exception. There is an individual, reading, right now, enraged that I would be so bold as to try and expose. But, see that is the AWESOME, WOUNDEROUS, BEAUTIFUL thing about THE TRUTH. Once it is revealed, the lie must remove itself. Yes, it must flee.

Brothers and Sisters, today's encouragement is nothing more than my attempt to nudge you a little closer to the total truth. You maybe sitting, saying to yourself, "I know about God, Christ Jesus, and this Bible."
Are you learning the TRUTH of what what God is saying, through Christ Jesus, by way of this Word of God in the Bible? Are you making sure that all portions of your life are lining up with what God is saying? Are you doing your best, on a daily basis, to make sure all who come into contact with you see Christ Jesus more than they see you? Basically, are you obedient?

Okay, here is what I ask that you do. Go and line up this what I have presented: this encouragement, with the Word of God; the Bible. If anything I have presented to you: this encouragement, is not within the Word of God; the Bible, than alert me to it. Like I have stated, in past times, I am not above being taught. Remember, all of this is fellowship. It has been my desire, through this blog, to bring those who would participate closer to Christ Jesus; to receive Salvation, and begin that walk with Christ which leads them into eternal life; life eternal in heaven.

This truth cannot, and will not, be hidden. Whatever a man speaks, writes, or performs should be examined according to the Word of God. It is your life; life eternal, that matters most. I hope that all who read today will find that the truth is now their new pursuit. Prayerfully, their eyes can, now, see that all of the "things" that have aquired or that desire to aquire is a thin replacement to the truth, which is to aquired with even more desire.

And the truth shall make you free. So shall you be. Free indeed.

Love: It's All I Do

Ecclesiastes 12;13-14 (KJV)

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
For God shall bring every work into judgement, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Mark 12;29-31 (KJV)

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Today's encouragement is quite simple yet the most needed.

You ARE Loved. God LOVES you. You MATTER to him. No other Love is GREATER than that Love of God. Because I PURPOSE to please God, I love you too. Yes, YOU. We may not know one another, but I ASK my Father: God, to look after you. To PROVIDE for you. To PROTECT you. To PLACE you in the area where you were BORN to be. For YOU ARE his child, and YOU HAVE PURPOSE.

On today, walk with the knowledge that you are within a family. Your family is GREAT because your father is the GREATEST. You have access to EVERYTHING; that your father knows is for your benefit. You can come unto him and ask for ANYTHING; that you know he would say is good for you. You HAVE brothers and sisters who will sit with you; to encourage you to seek out our father's will for your life, and boost you up to complete that will. We, as your brothers and sisters, WILL do what we can to keep hurt, harm, and danger away from you: we will ALWAYS go our father to ask about you. We ARE a family that loves, because we are Loved. It is THIS Love that will carry us. REMEMBER this Love. SEARCH this Love. BREATHE this Love. LIVE this Love.

This Love SHALL NEVER perish!!!!!

Less Than Never

Luke 22;41-44 (KJV)

And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed.
Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

Philippians 2;5-8 (KJV)

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Before I get into today's encouragement, I repeat, again, the word's of Christ Jesus according to the Gospel of Luke: "Nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done."

Nevertheless: a big word that is actually not inside today's usage of english words: to be spoken. It is more than likely a word forgotten, not because it is forgotten but, because it doesn't align itself with most ways of thought in today's time. This word, when spoken, immediately calls up humility. Another utterance that is struggling to be retained within the human articulation of words. What exactly am I placing in front of you, and myself, on this day? It is that when we place our feet on the path entitled, 'God's will for our lives', there will come a "Nevertheless".

As a matter of fact, there will be more than 100,000 of them, by my guestamation. For we, who are born into sin and are shaped in iniquity, do not come pre-programmed with "knowledge" of any relationship to God. We have to reach that knowledge; to operate in it, through a word called FAITH. For that reason alone, nevertheless is oftimes stripped off the back of our tongues: with our own fingers. See, to humble ourselves before God: who we have FAITH in, but have never seen (physically), is without a doubt difficult. Yet, when we experience God: to know He IS, and thereby increasing our FAITH, we can make those additional steps along that path.

Which brings us to the center of today's encouragement. Again, "Nevertheless".
Honestly, to yourself, when was the last time you uttered this word; to solely set aside yourself: all of yourself, and perform nothing less than the full, complete, will of God? Yes, I ask because we have to see that when setting ourselves (it is voluntary) upon the path to follow Christ Jesus, Luke 9;23, we will have the nevertheless moments. And, if we do not resolve ourselves to perform God's will, it shall be a slow, agonizing, and possibly incomplete walk that will be disheartening. For both God and ourselves. It has never been God's desire to make your life no more difficult than you can bear, but we, as wise and intelligent as we are, enjoy making it so much more difficult than it has to be. When the answer is really, "Do what you were suppose to do." Christ dropped blood because he understood, as most of us do as well, he could not NOT perform the will of God for his life and live out the rest of his days in peace, joy, and comfort. Yes, you know this about your life as well.

What you know is what you mask, to others, as you go about your daily life. Especially when you didn't say, "Nevertheless". Trust, I know about this too, not because I have gotten to where Christ made it. No!, I haven't sweated blood while in prayer concerning God's will for my life. But then again, I haven't had full awareness that I have completed all of what God desires I should have completed. Does it make sense? Christ Jesus knew his mission, and knew that it HAD TO BE COMPLETED. Knew it so well that while in prayer: in active conversation with God, Christ began to sweat blood. He was so fighting his humanity that his humanity tried to rebel even when his will to complete God's will wouldn't.

That is our encouragement for today. Amidst all of this celebration of 'Freedom', we should take the time to study upon how we, the children of God, gain that TRUE freedom. How it is bestowed upon us even as we know we do not deserve it. Take the time to reflect how this TRUE freedom rests within the hearts of those, in other parts of this world, who still live in bondage. All because of that word, "Nevertheless".

Let's begin to incorporate that word back into the verbage of our speech. Let's begin to have that word spoken about us, as we commit all our actions to God again. Be encouraged today: to step into the freedom of the word "Nevertheless". See how you have opportunity to gain strength, peace, joy, comfort, and assurance because of that word, "Nevertheless". So, how can we stay on that path; to continue to make step after step; to complete the will of God for our lives? By raising up our legs and saying, "Nevertheless", and then taking that step.

Lord, I pray that on this day YOU settle this encouragement down inside of the hearts of my Brothers and Sister. I pray that we all receive exactly what it is that you have for us, in the name of Jesus. I ask, Lord, that you show us what "Nevertheless" looks like: when time to perform it. Yes Lord!, please give us strength to perform we see that it has to be performed. Thank you Lord Jesus. Continue to guide us, and impart your wise counsel unto us, in the name of Jesus. And, we will be ever so mindful to give your name all the praise, all the honor, and all the glory. In precious name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

He IS Greater than.......

Matthew 14;30-31 (KJV)

But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying Lord, save me.
And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

The Webster's II New College Dictionary, 1995 edition, lists a distraction as:
1. The act of distracting or state of being distracted. 2. Something that distracts, esp. an amusement: DIVERSION. 3. Mental or emotional confusion or disturbance.

The New Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, 1995 edition, translates the word 'wind' (in the Greek) as:
anemos [an'-em-os] wind; (plural) by implication (the four) quarters (of the earth). The base of this word is, aer [ah-ayr'] to blow unconsciously, i.e. respire, by analogy to blow.

BOLD STATEMENT: We only get distracted, from our total completion of God's will for our life, when we deem the certain situation (in which we find ourselves; at whatever time we are inside of them) to be GREATER than God.

This encouragement, today, is for all my Brothers and Sister, who are suffering from the same condition I suffer from: from time to time. The ironic part about us suffering from it is that we already have a great example of the administration of an antidote. But, we seem to not "want" to trust that it will work for our particular situation. So, we begin to mix together our own blend of remedy; which doesn't seem to cure, no matter how many different concoctions we whip up. We ain't chemists!!!!!

This portion of the events in which Peter walked on water, to get to where Jesus was at, gives us a gigantic picture of Faith, but at the same time it shows us how we do, sometimes, allow for a tiny distraction to be processed as being GREATER than God: Christ Jesus. Again, go back to the text and we will see that this wind, this distraction, to Peter was quite fierce. The Bible describes the wind as boisterous. I do not know about you, but the word just illicts thoughts of distraction. Now, what must be quickly spoken is that Peter was walking on the water due, only, to the Power of Christ Jesus. Okay, I will say it like this, "You were, only, able to get past that last break up due to the Power of Christ Jesus." Does it register now?

Why then do we allow for these tiny, minuscule portion of a distraction to come along and allow it to lie to us? No, seriously, WHY? Answer the question, and I am sure you (if you hold the answer in your memory) just might be able to not repeat that same "cry" for help that Peter cried out to receive from Christ Jesus.

Re-read this passage, Matthew 14;22-33, and then search out, within your life, those times when you know the distractions couldn't, or shouldn't have been able to detour you from reaching Christ Jesus. That way you will have a current, active, pattern of thought that continuously repeats, "He IS Greater than....."
